Mini AOA to go ahead in Albury Wodonga
As the AOA in NSW has been cancelled (refer to previous article) the VAR (Vic) and the AMVC (Qld). will be holding a Mini AOA based in Albury Wodonga, 7-11 September 2022. This event is not planned to replace any AOA but more to keep it alive.
To date there has bee positive feedback to the event with just over 50 expressions of interest to attend. There has also been initial support from local councils received.
The proposed rally programme is as follows:
Wednesday 7th
Open the rally HQ for entrants to register, short self guided tours of the local area for entrants, evening welcome dinner, possible use of a charity group to put on a BBQ, keeping the nigth simple and user friendly.
Thursday 8th
Day tour to Beechworth, possible parking behind the court house, open grass area Beechworth Bakery to be contacted, pre booked lunch to be collected from the Bakery (to be arranged with the Bakery).
Entrants make own dinner arrangements.
Friday 9th
Split the rally group up into two smaller groups, morning visits to Migrant Museum and Bandiana Army museum, groups swap venues after lunch.
Entrants to make own Lunch and dinner arrangements.
Saturday 10th
Mt Beauty or Rutherglen TBD Evening meal?
Sunday 11th
Show and Shine in the Wodonga rail precinct, possible catering due to location
Evening gathering for final night at venue TBD. Light entertainment.
Investigations are also being conducted into a rally badge, rally window stickers, rally book and rally regalia. There will also be a rally entrant fee, currently proposed at $100, however the amount will be confirmed once badge and rally book has been costed.
