In Loving Memory of Garry Chudasko

Vale: Garry Chudasko 1951-2019

Garry was one of the AMVCQ’s earliest members; he was Member Number 6 when he joined the club in August 1981. It had only been founded the month before.

Garry was always a perfectionist and his immaculate and slightly modified A40 Tourer reflected this. One thing most people associated with Garry was his infectious laugh. He attended many of our monthly meetings, and there was always something said which would set him off. He worked in Woolloongabba at Parts & Service, a company specialising in brake and clutch parts, and many of our members in the ‘80s and ‘90s benefited from his great knowledge and helpfulness in all things Austin from A40s through to 1800s and Maxis. Because of other commitments, we didn’t see the Tourer on many club outings, but he usually brought it to All British Car Clubs’ Day. He had also acquired a J40 pedal car and both cars were at the 2017 British Day.

Apart from his Austins (he had also owned an A35) his great love was for Mustangs and Falcons. His 1967 ‘Stang was as beautifully presented as his A40, and likewise, his 1971 XY Fairmont. All three cars were at his Memorial Service held on March 21st. He was a very committed family man and also to his church.

Our thoughts are with his family; wife Val and son Matt and his children.
