AOA 2019 - Update #1 - Doug Benckendorff

Doug’s report on his trip to Tanunda for AOA 2019…..so far (22 September 2019).

The car is going well so far, left Buderim on Friday and now at Robinvale caravan park. Tomorrow, Monday (23rd Sept) we arrive in Tanunda. Saturday we drove through a dust storm for about 200 km from Narrabri to Forbes. We had to close the car windows and drive with the air conditioning on. Just south of Dubbo we could not see for more than about 500 meters and the dust was so thick that everyone drove with head lights on. The car is not covered in red dust outside and the engine looks as if I have never washed it. To make matters worse, we had a few spits of rain with turned the dust to mud.
